Sacred Music Workshop ~ Summer 2019

Sacred Music Workshop ~ Summer 2019

June 24 - 29

We are so grateful for the generous support of the many people who have expressed interest in this summer’s workshop.

Given the limited number of registrations for the specified dates, however, we have been obliged to cancel our plans for this particular event. While we regret this postponement, we are full of hope that the delay will bear fruit in a greater response and fruitfulness in future opportunities for sacred music formation!

Please be in touch. We would greatly appreciate your input as to what your ideal sacred music workshop would look like, on the contact us page.

We welcome all lay people, church musicians, and clergy who wish to participate in the renewal of Sacred Music in the Catholic Church.

This workshop will be conducted by composer, educator, and Magnificat Institute founder Paul Jernberg. He will be presenting Magnificat's wide-ranging program for formation in Catholic sacred music and its renewal today. Participants will have the opportunity to learn repertoire for the Ordinary and Propers of the Mass, and for the Liturgy of the Hours, which can be used in “ordinary” parishes, whether their resources be humble or abundant. This repertoire will include new works by Mr. Jernberg, as well as beautiful traditional chant and polyphony.

We are grateful to be able to offer this workshop at a very modest cost which includes not only full tuition but also food and lodging from Monday evening through Saturday noon. Further discounts are available for priests and seminarians, and for those attending as a group of three or more people from the same parish or community. We look forward to seeing you this summer – please register soon, as places are limited!
