Join Us in Singing a Mass for Persecuted Christians
persecution of Christians today
Many people are unaware of the extent to which persecution against Christians continues to occur.
In recent years, Christian persecution has been sharply on the rise, and its terrible impacts have only begun to be felt. In fact, according to Pope Francis, conditions for Christians are worse now than they were in the days of the early Church. (churchinneed.org)
A Mass for Persecuted Christians
Theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven
A complete musical setting for the Mass for Persecuted Christians was composed by Paul Jernberg in conjunction with the Magnificat Institute of Sacred Music and Nasarean.org, to draw awareness to, prayers for, and action towards alleviating the plight of Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith. Recognizing an increasing need for prayer for both those persecuted and those persecuting, the Magnificat Institute of Sacred Music has decided to make the score readily available to seriously interested parishes. To make a request for your parish, please fill out the request form (linked below).
Nasarean.org’s Icon Project
Nasarean.org, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has begun an initiative to create shrines devoted to prayer for persecuted Christians. This icon, Mary, Mother of Persecuted Christians, is a pivotal part of this initiative; it is available to any Bishop who would wish to install and bless it in his Diocese. Currently, four shrines worldwide—in New York City, London, Stockholm, and Clinton, MA—display these icons. If your Diocese would be open to housing a similar shrine, please reach out to Nasarean.org.
